This subject is designed to introduce the students to reverse engineering technologies for rapid development of a new product. The subject covers theoretical knowledge of concept and methodology in reverse engineering technology and design process. As a practical-based subject, students are assigned to carry out a project using reverse engineering technology. Key components of the practical assignment include identification of product to be reverse engineered, scanning or digitizing tools and techniques, generation of CAD model from existing physical parts and fabrication of the product through Rapid Prototyping (RP) or NC machining process
